The Atlântico Festival is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a star-studded lineup that brings the soulful sounds of the Lusophone world to the heart of Europe. From October 7 to 10, the Philharmonie Luxembourg will host a celebration of Portuguese-speaking music, featuring legendary Brazilian artist Djavan, fado star Carminho, and the genre-bending Criolo.
A Decade of Lusophone Harmony
Organizers are promising a “vibrant and colorful” atmosphere for this milestone edition. Over the last decade, the festival has become a vital cultural bridge, attracting an audience that transcends language barriers to celebrate the rhythms of Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, and Mozambique. The festival is renowned for the “warm reception” its international audience provides to artists from across the Portuguese-speaking world.
Legendary Performances and Modern Sounds
The festival officially kicks off on October 2 with a performance by the Maat Saxophone Quartet at the Portuguese Cultural Center. However, the main stage action begins on October 7 at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, featuring a diverse array of genres including Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), jazz, and fado.
Key highlights of the 2026 program include:
- October 8: A headline concert by Djavan, marking a historic 50-year career that has defined Brazilian music.
- October 9: A night of emotive fado led by the acclaimed singer Carminho.
- October 10: A collaborative performance at the Grand Auditorium featuring rapper Criolo, jazz pianist Amaro Freitas, and Cape Verdean-Portuguese sensation Dino D’Santiago.
The lineup also features Brazilian singer Mônica Salmaso, Mozambican artist Lenna Bahule, the Luís Vicente Trio, and Coletivo Gira, ensuring a blend of established icons and contemporary innovators.

To encourage exploration of the diverse program, the festival is offering ticket packages with discounts for those attending three or more concerts. Individual tickets range from 26 to 68 euros. Continuing a long-standing tradition, the Philharmonie Luxembourg will publish an official festival catalog, providing historical context and deep dives into the lives and works of the performing artists.
Since its inception, the Atlântico Festival has hosted legendary figures such as Gilberto Gil, Mayra Andrade, and Ana Moura.
