David Pina, an international boxer of Cape Verdean origin, qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Sunday by winning the 51 kg final of the qualifying tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand, against a competitor from Iran.
This was the Creole athlete’s fourth win in the last qualification window as he achieved the full number of victories needed in the four bouts to qualify, beating boxers from Serbia, Hong Kong, Ukraine and Iran in the final.
