“Nha Terra” voted song of the year by singer Soraia Ramos- CVMA 2024
This year’s 13th edition of the Cabo Verde Music Awards saw Soraia Ramos “win” the Best Song of the Year award for her song “Nha Terra”. The song “Bu ka Speraba” by Djodje x Neyna won in the Popular Song of the Year category.
This year’s edition of the CVMA, held at the Port of Praia Cargo Terminal on Saturday 01st, paid tribute to the group “Os Tubarões”, who were awarded the Carreia Prize.
During the gala, Diogo Piçarra, Alberto Koenig and Ceuzany paid a “heartfelt” tribute to singer Sara Tavares, who died in November last year.
The night of the 13th edition of the CVMA featured performances by artists such as Djodje, Neyna, Nancy Vieira, Helio Batalha, Nelson Freitas, Jimmy P, Diogo Piçarra, Os Tubarões and Beto.
In the other categories, the revelation award went to Nessa Onda – “Completam”, and the best music video of the year went to singer Alberto Koenig – “Totoloto”. Other standout rhythms of the year came from singer Ga DaLomba x Gil Semedo with the song “Omi Tambe Ta Txora”.
As for the traditional song of the year, Lejemea ft. Freirianas Guerreiras – “Si Bu Dam” was the winner. When it came to Hip Hop of the Year, PCC x Boy Game x Loreta KBA – “Buli Mundo” were the standouts.
In the songwriter of the year category, Neuza Pina won with her song “Dixan Bai”. In the Kizomba of the Year category, singer Garry won with his song “Bum Bum na Peto”. In terms of the funaná of the year: Titio de Belo freire and Kamoka ft. Zeny Gaita – “Ami é de Mundo” were the winners of this category.
As for the morna of the year, singer Cremilda Medina’s song “Nova Aurora” won her the award. The male performer of the year was Djodje with his song “Nha Love”.
For female performer of the year, singer Soraia Ramos won the award for the second year running. As for the album of the year, the singer Assol Garcia with her song “Ecos de Mim” was the one who secured this award.
In terms of stage artist of the year, Dino d’Santiago was the winner. And for the social action award, it also won in this category.
As for honorable mentions, Palinh Vieira, Djim Job and Kalu Monteiro, Morgadinho and Tey Santos were the standouts in this category.
