Maria de Lurdes Assunção Pina, commonly known as Lura, was born in Lisbon, Portugal. The daughter of Cape Verdean parents, the singer and musician sings songs such as Morna, Funaná, Batuque, West African music and contemporary music.
He has performed all over the world and received several awards, including the BBC Radio, Cabo Verde Music Awards, Lusofonia Award, Victoires de la Musique and Songlines Music Awards. Some of his best-known hits include “Di Korpu Ku Alma”, “Nha Terra”, “Aninha”, “Segredos” and “Omara”.
