Internet and telephony
Fixed telephony is well developed in the cities and there are also numerous telephone boxes. These work with phone cards, which can be bought at the post office, in some stores and often also in hotels. Calls to Europe are possible from all payphones.
The cell phone network is well developed and the provider Cabo Verde Telecom also has roaming contracts with international providers. However, tariffs are often high, so it’s best to check current tariffs with your mobile provider beforehand.
Internet is also available in many places in Cape Verde, and there are internet cafés in the big cities that offer cheap access.
